I am caught up in a few super cool projects that, surprising to myself, don’t involve coding at all.
The first one is a school project, and also the most time-consuming one: the portfolio optimization project for my Investment Management course. This project accounts for more than 1/4 of my final grade, and requires us to work with real-life clients to help them build and optimize a suitable investment portfolio. It has been really exciting to play with concrete numbers again – I never do that since high school 🙂 My teammates and I are finalizing our end-of-term deliverable and I’m very excited to post a finance project to this website!
Another project that has been going on is watercolor painting. I’ve always regretted not being artistic enough (or, at all…), and I always wondered if I could just pick up a bit of painting. Besides, it’s a really great way to procrastinate too – reading or watching TV are “inputting procrastination” as I call it, but painting feels like “outputting procrastination” and it’s just so much more satisfying (not that my output have any production value at this point though). I am trying to follow a few good online tutorials, and if you have anything to recommend please do let me know!
